The Company HEKLA
HEKLA is a Service Company, specializing in sales and servicing of automobiles and machinery. The Company’s goal is to lead the field as regards to servicing customers and the marketing of goods sold and serviced by the Company. HEKLA represents Companies renowned all over the World for quality and reliability, such as Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Mitsubishi, Scania, Caterpillar, Hiab and Goodyear.
HEKLA was established in 1933 by Sigfús Bjarnason. The Headquarters of HEKLA are located at Laugavegur in Reykjavik, occupying a spacious 12,500 square meters, and housing the Company’s Automotive Division. HEKLA’s Heavy Machinery Division has moved to new premises at Klettagardar in Reykjavik. HEKLA has Dealers and Service Agents in all major towns in Iceland.

HEKLA became the Importer/Dealer for Volkswagen in Iceland. The VW Beetle gained instant success on the Icelandic market. |

Audi joined the Volkswagen Group and HEKLA started import of Audi. |

HEKLA took over the Dealership for General Electric, starting with Home Appliences and later to include High Technology Equipment such as Medical Equipment and Turbines for Power Plants. |

Import of cars from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation started and this year HEKLA was also appointed Dealer for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. MHI Turbines are today in operation at two of Icelands largest Geothermal Power Plants. |
